Argue with the idea, not the person. "That argument doesn't hold up because..." is always fine, however sharp. "You're an idiot for thinking that" is not, no matter how wrong they are.
Attacking someone for their race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability, or age isn't debate — it's the opposite of it. This applies even when it's framed as "just asking questions."
Don't pile on a specific person, follow them from room to room to argue, or post anything meant to intimidate rather than persuade. Disagreement is welcome; campaigns against a person aren't.
Never post someone's real name, address, school, workplace, or other identifying info without their consent — including your own, if it could put you at risk. Keep it pseudonymous if you want to.
No threats of violence, no encouraging self-harm, no content that puts a real person at risk. This is a hard line, not a judgment call.
Don't create a room claiming to represent a society, school, or institution you're not actually part of, and don't pretend to be someone you're not.
No mass-posting, no vote manipulation, no using multiple accounts to make a take look more (or less) popular than it is.
Every take passes through a rate limit and a word filter before it saves — this catches obvious spam and flagged language automatically, on the server, not just in your browser.
Anyone can report a take. Reports go to a queue our moderators review — not a public pile-on, just a quiet flag for someone to check.
Violating these guidelines can mean a take gets removed, an account gets a warning, or — for serious or repeated violations — an account gets suspended. Room creators are expected to hold their own rooms to this same standard.
