Contraversus is built for sixth-form, college, and university-age debate — but anyone can sign up. You need to provide an accurate email address and keep your account secure. If you're under 18, we'd encourage you to make sure a parent or guardian is aware you're using the platform, given it involves posting publicly to other users.
You're responsible for whatever happens under your account. Don't share your password, and tell us if you think someone else has access to your account.
Whatever you post — takes, room prompts, profile bio — is yours. By posting it, you give Contraversus a licence to display, store, and distribute it as part of running the platform (for example, showing your take in a room's feed, or on your public Noted page if someone notes it). You confirm you have the right to post whatever you submit, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
You agree not to use Contraversus to:
If you create a room, you're responsible for keeping it civil — you're its moderator by default. We may remove any room, take, or account that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines, with or without notice, at our discretion.
Contraversus is provided "as is." We're a small, early-stage platform — we don't guarantee it will always be available, bug-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use it knowing that.
To the extent permitted by law, Contraversus and its operator aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited (for example, in relation to death or personal injury caused by negligence).
You can stop using Contraversus and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@contraversus.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
We may update these terms as the platform grows. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
This is a plain-language starting point, not a substitute for legal advice. Get it properly reviewed before relying on it for a public launch, particularly given under-18 users.
