When you create an account, we collect:
Your display name, handle, profile bio, the takes you post, and your public Noted page are visible to other users by default. Your email address is never shown to other users. If you create a room, its prompt, name, and member count are visible to anyone who has the join code (or to everyone, if you mark it public).
To keep the platform usable, posts pass through automated checks (a rate limit and a word filter) before they're saved, and anyone can report a post for a moderator to review. Reports are only visible to platform admins. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our Community Guidelines.
You can edit or remove most of your profile details at any time from your profile page. To request a full copy of your data, or to request that your account and its data be deleted, email us at hello@contraversus.com — we'll action it as quickly as we reasonably can.
We know secondary school and sixth-form students may use this platform. We don't knowingly collect more information from younger users than from anyone else, and the same rules above apply to everyone. If you're a parent or guardian with a concern about a young person's account, contact us at the email above.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the update.
This policy was written to be plain and honest about what actually happens on this platform today — it is not a substitute for legal advice. If you're relying on this for a formal launch, especially given under-18 users, it's worth having it properly reviewed by a solicitor before you rely on it.
